It’s the final countdown!

Holy wow. Are we really already in week 10?!  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This football season seems to be flying by!  This past week also introduced the first week of the committee’s rankings for who will be in the Final Four come January.

The top 4 in the committee’s picks are

#1 Clemson
#2 LSU
#3 Ohio St
#4 Alabama

I’m sure these will be changing quite frequently leading up to the last week of the season and I’m sure they’ll change drastically next week, as well, since Clemson is playing FSU and Alabama is playing LSU.

With that being said, how did we fare last week?

Daniel 7-3 (87-24)
Garret 7-3 (85-26)
Katie 7-3 (84-27)
Isaiah 8-2 (69-37)
Chris 6-3 (69-37) **  didn’t pick Mercer game
Molly 0-0 (38-21)

The games this week are

#1 Ohio St vs Minnesota
#2 Baylor @ KState  (Thursday night game)
#3 Clemson vs #17 FSU
#4 LSU @ #7 Alabama
#5 TCU @ #12 Oklahoma St
#6 Michigan St @ Nebraska
#8 Notre Dame @ Pitt
#9 Stanford @ Colorado
#10 Iowa @ Indiana

Georgia v Kentucky
Texas v Kansas
Mercer v Chattanooga
South Carolina @ Tennessee
#19 Ole Miss v Arkansas
#11 Florida vs Vandy

Katie’s Picks

#1 Ohio St vs Minnesota
#2 Baylor @ KState
#3 Clemson vs #17 FSU Because I will never ever cheer for the Criminoles. Ever. Plus I want Clemson to win because Dabo promised 80,000 fans he’d buy them all pizza if Clemson makes the playoffs.
#4 LSU @ #7 Alabama It may be in Tuscaloosa, but I don’t think Bama pulls a Bama out and wins. I think LSU wins this one, but it’ll for sure be a defensive battle again.
#5 TCU @ #12 Oklahoma St My upset pick of the week. Don’t underestimate the Cowboys.
#6 Michigan St @ Nebraska
#8 Notre Dame @ Pitt
#9 Stanford @ Colorado
#10 Iowa @ Indiana
Georgia v Kentucky Please Georgia, please for the love of all that is holy. Win this game. We’re 0-3 in our last 3 games. Please.
Texas v Kansas UT has been so Jekyll & Hyde this year. I’m hoping that Jekyll shows up and we blow out Kansas. Although, I think this game might be closer than expected.
Mercer v Chattanooga
South Carolina @ Tennessee
#19 Ole Miss v Arkansas I would absolutely LOVE Ole Miss to run the table because it means that Bama won’t be in Atlanta come December, even if they run the table too.
#11 Florida vs Vandy As much as I wish Vandy could win this game, because of my disdain for all things gator, I think Florida wins this and in the process clinches the East.

Isaiah’s Picks

#1 Ohio St vs Minnesota This game will end in blood (and a 30 point differential). I am working on my ninth drink at the start of writing this. Tonight will end in badly. Still. I hate Ohio. This is THE Worst Way to Make Picks and then Write It All Up.
#2 Baylor @ KState The dudes from KS do not want to suit up for this one. I love Baylor and their “We don’t care that your girlfriend is watching in the stands. We will break you” mindset when it comes to scoring two dozen touchdowns a game.
#3 Clemson vs #17 FSU Seminole fans on Twitter are surprisingly confident about their team’s chances. Hope is a dangerous thing when allowed to thrive among the riff raff of college football fandom. Here’s hoping that hope is dismantled and the pieces burnt on Saturday.
#4 LSU @ #7 Alabama  It’s not even an upset if Alabama beats LSU. It will just be an “of course” moment. Once again, this pick is for my mother because she is a Roll-Damn-Tider and I never want her to give me that “whose son are you” angry soap opera glare.
#5 TCU @ #12 Oklahoma St Same thing I said about Baylor but with a “War Damn Frogs” thrown in.
#6 Michigan St @ Nebraska There is a very nice woman at my job who constantly reps Nebraska and tries to bring up her alma mater when college football (read: whatever Georgia did over the weekend) is discussed in the break room. I am very sorry, Julianna, but Nebraska is going to be on the receiving end of a very thorough shellacking. I do hope they beat the hell out of Louisiana-Monroe or whatever in the Fruit Loops Xerox Bowl this year though
#8 Notre Dame @ Pitt Come on, upset, come on (clap clap). Come on, upset, come on (clap clap). In all honesty, I am fairly certain this will end with Pitt only scoring on a miraculous garbage time 57 yard field goal attempt after giving up 32 points to Your Dad’s Favorite College Football.
#9 Stanford @ Colorado Miller High Life is good. This game will not be.
#10 Iowa @ Indiana To borrow a Rastafari turn of phrase, “I and I” is going to be another blowout game. I sometimes forget where Iowa is unless I look at a map.
Georgia v Kentucky Keep your eyes on the prize, Georgia. Said prize? A new head coach. Tank with pride, boys.
Texas v Kansas  I would bet at least $20 on this prediction.
Mercer v Chattanooga To crib a phrase from Ralph Wiggum, I choo-choo-choose Mercer to soundly defeat the boys from locomotiveville.
South Carolina @ Tennessee Steve Spurrier called up just to say “After Tennessee finally beat Georgia, Mark Richt was so mad he almost slammed his car door. He apologized to the car afterward, of course.”
#19 Ole Miss v Arkansas Transfer some of that misspent Bulldog love onto Ole Miss for this game, Georgia fans. No one would blame you. In other words, don’t blame me. As always, blame Mark Richt.
#11 Florida vs Vandy Practically a bye week. The Commodores. More like “Easy Like Saturday Afternoon.” They still burning candles in front of that water stain in the dorms that sort of looks like Jeff Fischer?
