What To Do This Weekend? We’ve Got the Solution!

I don’t care where you live in Georgia, or anywhere in the South, this Friday you need to get to Macon, Georgia for the Macon Pop’s performance of The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper & Abbey Road performed in it’s entirety.

There are a lot of things I participate in my hometown and sometimes I can’t make it to them all- but Macon Pops is one of those things I don’t miss. I so much don’t miss it that even though I have to be in Oxford, Mississippi the next day for the Ole Miss game and I would be better served to leave Friday I AM NOT DOING IT. I’m going to suffer through waking up at 5 am Saturday morning and driving 6 hours to the game because I love this event so much.

Why? If I’ve learning one thing over the recent years, it’s how amazing music is live. I’ve always loved the sound of a full symphony but hearing it with pop music is a whole other thing. Especially with songs that I grew up listening to my parents play.

The balcony seats are only $20- but $10 if you’re a student. And you can still come down to the floor and dance, which, trust me, you will want to do that.

From their website, here’s info about food and drinks:

” We are excited to feature Grow, a local farm-to-table restaurant, as one of our caterers for our upcoming SGT Pepper & Abbey Road concert on Friday, November 6, 2015! To order food, please contact Grow directly at catering@goodtogomacon.com and your food will be ready for pick up at the concert. Orders will be accepted until Wednesday, November 4 at 3:00PM.

Greek Corner Pizza will sell Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza by the box or by the slice as well as assorted desserts. All food sales by Greek Corner Pizza will take place at the concert. Pre-orders for Greek Corner Pizza are not available.

Due to unforeseen circumstances guests are allowed to brown bag any alcoholic beverages for the November 6, 2015 concert. Greek Corner Pizza will have non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase.”

So while it looks like today was the deadline for food orders, there’s also items from Greek Corner Pizza- which I think is a great idea. AND you can brown bag your drinks- which honestly, I’m more than ok with this.

Here’s photos from the last Macon Pops- you won’t want to miss it!
