Got a Shoe Addiction? Pursona’s Got the Cure- Interview with Angie Ramos Dorchak

So, I’ve been finding a lot of boutiques via Facebook and I am learning there is all kinds of cute stuff out there! But unlike being here in Macon, where I know all of the owners and in some cases grew up with them, I don’t know a lot of the people who are behind the scenes of these boutiques outside of Macon. This is why I am interviewing many of these owners: because in this age of social media while we can know a lot about these businesses sometimes it’s a little harder to feel like we know the person behind them. Especially when we are not in the same town. And I think we all like to know the people we are working with 😉

So, without further delay… I present to you my interview with Angie Ramos Dorchak of Pursona in Columbus, Georgia. They have some of the cutest things I have seen on Facebook and I can’t wait to get there in person. There’s also this pair of pink loafers that I am just dying to order… ahhhh let me stop before I get off track!

MIWM: Tell us your name please 🙂
 Angie Ramos Dorchak
MIWM: And who works with you?
AD: 4 absolutely incredible girls work for me
MIWM: You are located in Columbus, Georgia correct?
AD: Yes, on 6501 Whitesville Road, Suite 200
MIWM: How long have you been in business?
AD: 7 years in business
MIWM: Tell me about opening Pursona, what were some unique challenges? What was your goal in opening Pursona?
AD: Opening the store was very challenging for me because my major is in Microbiology and had to learn things as I went.  I had to learn very quickly that reps would take advantage of you and not tell you the whole truth about orders.  I lost a lot of money that way.  Another challenge was trying to let people know that just because I’m a boutique does not mean we are expensive.  It just means we are trying to offer things that you may not be able to find in the masses of a department store or a tj maxx.  We have tons of fabulous things and at awesome prices.
MIWM: Tell us your favorite item in the store that is under $100?
AD: My favorite item under $100 in the store are our beaded stretch bracelets and/or the studded cuffs.  Layering bracelets are all the rage right now and I’m definitely on that bandwagon. LOL.  Now I don’t know how I ever wore a watch by itself! Ha!
MIWM: Do you see Pursona growing past Columbus?
AD: I definitely see Pursona growing outside of Columbus.  Stay tuned our eCommerce site launches soon 😉
MIWM: Oooooo can we be one of the first to know? 😉
AD: We will definitely let you know when we go live!!!  yay!
MIWM: Who are your style icons?
AD: Sarah Jessica Parker along with Victoria Beckham.
MIWM: What is the one fashion item each of you cannot live without?
AD: I absolutely cannot live without a fabulous handbag.  It’s my security blanket as well as my outfit maker.  Trust that when the celebrities are photographed in their workout gear and we think they look phenomenal it’s because of the handbag they are carrying and their big sunglasses.
MIWM: What is your favorite handbag currently in your store?
AD: My favorite handbag in the store is one by Big Buddha that has a tribal flare.  I have attached a photo!  Love the colors and how bohemian it is.
MIWM: What “style saying” do you live by?
AD: My tag line is “Carry yourself well” because you can do anything you want as long as you carry yourself well 🙂
