When One Has to Wear All White: THE White Party

Checklist:

  • must be sexy
  • must be a dress
  • must be freakin iconic
  • must be unique
  • must be “dance-able”
  • must look good on me
  • must be sexy

Oh and the most important requirement…

  • must be white, all white, no patterns of any type allowed
  • solid white

What in the world am I getting ready for? Well you have read about my friend Tori DeGraw Jennings before, well every year for her birthday she hosts The White Party. This party is inspired by the one the Puff Daddy/P Diddy/P Whateva he is now and Ashton Kutcher have. (Had? Are they still doing it? Sometimes my pop culture references are a bit behind.)  Both Tori and I are big fans of the show Gossip Girl, and you may remember when the gang went to this party in the Hamptons. So, here is our own version of it in Macon, Georgia thanks to Miss Tori (actually- Missus- now).

The outfits must be all white. No exceptions made. So of course I went through and bought like 10 dresses. Every time I found one I liked I found a reason to not like it. And even when I found one I settled on… well that changed. Here are the candidates below:

This dress was initially the finalist, mainly cause of the back. from Ginger Michelle in Macon, Ga

This dress is one I saw on Bella Cora’s, out of North Carolina, Facebook page. It’s just too darlin but not quite what I am needing for tonight… I have worn it to work already though 🙂

This is another one from Ginger Michelle and I got it because it reminds me of… well you will see…

Ginger Michelle “Marilyn” ( I call it that) dress

This next one made the first round of cuts, but then I found the one with the cool back from Ginger Michelle. However I have had this one about a year and it’s a fantastic dress to have, I have worn it many a time.

This dress I ordered for this event, but quickly realized it was better off as a casual work dress, and I really do love it but not for tonight:

From The Red Dress Boutique in Athens, Georgia

So, what was my final choice? You will have to wait and see! Tomorrow I will post pictures and talk about the event on my other blog- Around Town with Miss Molly (http://aroundtownwithmissmolly.blogspot.com/). Also , keep following my on my Tumblr (http://www.tumblr.com/blog/makeitworkmolly), Instagram (makeitworkmolly) and or Twitter (http://twitter.com/MakeItWorkMolly) for more of my somewhat sporadic #7Days7Earrings postings as well as my #GameDayFashions posts.
