When Should You Wear Compression Hose?

I know I’ve spoken previously about how I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to wear compression hose, but what if you’re pregnant and you aren’t sure when exactly to wear it?

Dr. Harper at Vein Specialists of the South has these answers!

For women, one of the main reasons for the development of varicose veins are the changes associated with pregnancy.

When my daughter got pregnant, as soon as I found out, I sent her a pair of compression hose, because I know that those changes we think begin later on when that baby starts to grow actually begin shortly after conception with the hormonal changes and other factors associated with pregnancy that contribute to vein disease.  So, it is good to wear compression hose when you’re pregnant.

You may need to get special maternity size compression hose, but that’s okay!  They make them special for ladies who are pregnant.

Don’t forget your compression hose when you’re pregnant.  Contact us at Vein Specialists of the South and order a few pairs from our office.
