Not a Cute Pregnant Lady – And What Has Helped!

I was not a cute pregnant lady with either of my first two kids. It could be because I was SO TINY when I had my first child. Seriously I’ve gotta dig up a photo to show y’all…

With my second child, it wasn’t so bad. Maybe because I spent so much time chasing the first kiddo?

With this one… so far I haven’t gained as much weight. Now, I am starting off about 20 pounds heavier to begin with so there’s that, but I do appear to be more proportional- at least, from the front.

One big issue I’ve had is that the places I shopped for maternity clothes way back over a decade ago have long since closed up where I live. So…. what to do? I tried buying simply larger clothes from local places that I love, but it didn’t quite work out. A baby bump and growing breasts aren’t simply “bigger”- there’s a whole other shape there.

So believe it or not… enter Stitch Fix.

My relationship with them in the past started off rather bumpy, in fact my post calling them a fraud is still one of my highest read. (Whoops.) Now I did correct the post once their founder reached out about my specific issue- which was how to extend deadlines if you’re running late making a return. I’m pleased to report that THAT issue is easily fixed and you can extend through their app as well as by simply emailing the company.

They have provided me with honestly my only baby bump specific clothes, and I have also been able to fill in with other items I already owned that were flowy enough to work.

I really love the two dresses in the cover photo- and please ignore the second photo as I took it in front of my daughter’s mirror. We have since had a discussion about how to clean mirrors.

I just had to give Stitch Fix a shout out because I don’t know what I would have done without them. Amazon and other sites are confusing and overwhelming with too many choices to filter through. With this, I could pick out a style I liked and stick to it or even send items back and switch it up a little.
