A Happy Anniversary, Spa Prizes, Art and Fun

I think I’ve worn out the phrase “there’s so much happening this weekend”- perhaps if I say it in French it’ll be better:

il ya tellement de choses ce week-end (weekend is an English phrase that doesn’t translate? Who knew! Thank you, Google!)

Dr. Ken and Terri Harper are two of the kindest and friendliest philanthropists in Macon. Please join me in wishing them a Happy Anniversary for their business, Spa Medical. They will be having an open house this Friday from 5 til 8 with a big tent and food from Kudzu and all kinds of giveaways including free Botox FOR A YEAR!!! Love me some Botox- truly, I do. (Yes I like to eat all natural and that kind of thing but I’m not above preventing wrinkles any way I can. And I’ll have to give y’all a refresher on Botox later on.) There will also be a violinist and art work and more fun.

For even more art, mosey on over to the 567, the Golden Bough, and the Macon Arts Alliance and the One City Art Festival.

The One City Art Festival is a joint venture with multiple venues, from the article YO Lattimore wrote for the Knight Arts blog:

” On October 3, the participating venues will display exhibits for the First Friday Art Walk, which takes place from 5 until 9 p.m. Other downtown business like Fresh Produce Records (a Knight Arts grantee), Golden Bough Bookstore, Roasted Cafe and Market City Cafe will also engage the festival by presenting the work of visual artists. There will also be a pop-up gallery in a vacant building on 365 Third Street. Afterwards, the only part of the event with a charge happens. It’s a party at The 567 Center with a $20 advance cover charge.”

If you live on the northern side of town, St. Francis Church is also having their arts festival.

Let’s say art isn’t your style- the Jones County Lions Club is having their fair, and there’s a dancing event at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and even more music at Crazy Bull. There’s no excuse not to get out- no matter where you are!

Love to all y’all,

Molly
