Food for your Garden- Coffee and Egg Shells

I love taking care of my plants- it’s honestly something that makes me feel like a Southern Old Maid but I’m more than ok with that! A friend gifted me her fiddle leaf fig and it’s been a joy to watch it thrive and grow.

That said, I made a comment recently on one of my YouTube shorts about saving eggshells for plants. (See link above- I couldn’t embed it.) Someone commented asking why was it good for them- so I’m here to answer that!

Eggshells, along with used coffee grinds, are excellent for your garden and plants. (Please note that I resisted using the obvious pun here.)

Egg shells will add calcium to the ground for your plants, and coffee grinds “contain nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus and other vital minerals.” (https://oldworldgardenfarms.com/2021/01/14/coffee-grounds-egg-shells/)

It’s that simple! Now you know to save those things for your plants.

Happy gardening!
