Faces, Faces!
Are the children bored yet?? I have an easy lesson you can do at home. All you need is a mirror, a pencil, 2 pieces of white copy paper, crayons or markers or colored pencils.
Sooo let’s draw different facial expressions. What is fun is looking into the mirror and make faces!
Take 1 sheet of paper and fold it twice. Then unfold it to make four rectangles.
Look into the mirror and make a happy face. Draw an oval in a rectangle. Then draw two circles or ovals for eyes. Now look at your eyebrows in the mirror. Are they a curved line? Draw your eyebrows.
Draw a nose between the eyes. Now look at your mouth. Are you smiling? Is your mouth a curved line, curving up?
Draw your mouth.
Now let’s make a mad face in the mirror. Look at your eyebrows. Are they at an angle towards the top of your nose?
Look at your mouth. What is it doing? Is it a straight line or open and showing your teeth?
Draw your mad face in another rectangle.
Ok third face- Look into the mirror and make a sad face. Have the eyebrows moved? What is your mouth doing? Are you frowning?
Draw a sad face in the third rectangle.
The fourth face is a surprise face. Are your eyebrows high over your eyes? Is your mouth open? Do you see your tongue?
Draw your surprise face in the fourth rectangle.
Put your paper to one side and get your second sheet of paper.
Draw your favorite facial expression on the second sheet of paper. Add a background, shoulders, arms and hands, maybe a body. Don’t forget your hair!! Any ears showing?
