All I Needed Were Brussels Sprouts

Ok, I have the pork chops marinating in the lemon thyme jelly… that’ll be good but we need fresh veggies. Just can’t go with the canned. Brussels Sprouts- yeah those will be good.

Stupid rain, of course it starts to pour AS I am on the interstate- one of the things that scares me the most- rain on the interstate just out of nowhere. Good lord I can’t see…

Starbucks before or after? After… it’ll be easier to carry it if not in grocery store…

Parking. Of course it’s still raining and I have zero umbrella. Awesome. It’s still in his car- awesome.

Ok so… ” Oh hey! How are you? …. I can’t believe how big your daughter has gotten. Good to see you!”

I don’t come in this store too often, ok bear left Brussels Sprouts should be over there…. ok here we go. Interesting! They’re laid out openly and not pre-packaged, that’s kind of nice I can pick out which ones I want. I think the smaller ones I think they’re cook better…

You know, we really do need more color on the plate other than the pork and Brussels Sprouts… maybe squash? Yeah yellow squash will be good. We can steam those. 

I kind of feel like we need something else too though, walking around, walking around…. tomatoes! OH I can make a Caprese Salad, oh wait does he have Balsamic Vinegar? (sending text) Ok so got tomatoes, need mozzarella cheese and basil. Basil basil, ok got that. OH and red wine, red wine would be good with this. (sending text… do you have red wine?)

Ok here’s the cheese… what kind of cheese did I get to make the Natalia’s spread? What is it what is it… damn it shouldn’t be this hard RICOTTA that’s it. Oh I’ll get ricotta cheese, oh and scallions and I can use the Balsamic vinegar for this too. Great good. Oh wait that means we need bread. Sourdough bread- ok got that. Oh you know, I might as well get a small thing of milk as I walk by it…

Balsamic vingar…. damn it why is this so hard to find? OH there’s that barbecue sauce, I’ll get that too cause I don’t think the good kind is there and it can be used with the pork tenderloin later… ok cool. 

(Confusing text received.) Wait, he does or doesn’t have Balsamic vinegar and red wine? Fuck it I’ll get both. Where’s the Byron? Come on come on…. I mean really why is this so hard to find… maybe the Ravens Wood we had last night at Circa- well what do you know? THAT one I find. Good.

Ok I got it all in one basket… lovely.

Damn it. All I really needed were the Brussels Sprouts. <sigh>
