Lashes Lashes- Gimme MORE Lashes

I hate my eyelashes. Truly, I do. And I am insanely jealous of anyone who has em naturally- especially men. I mean- why? Why give guys such great eyelashes and I have to slave over finding a great mascara or putting on fake ones? It’s just total cosmic BS.

So honestly, I generally wear fake eyelashes from M.A.C.- I’ve been doing it for years and when I worked at DEA (a local nightclub) in college, I got to where I could put them on like a freakin pro. Now, not so much.

However for whatever reason, I’ve had lots of photographers- well, a few- reach out to me recently to take pictures of me. Thus, the need to have better lashes on a more consistent basis. I haven’t gotten to where I can committ to Latisse (or the price point- ouch!) but when Lauren Williams of The Lily Room Spa at Classic Hair Designs in Bonaire reached out to me- she let me know about the NOVALashes. Now, I wasn’t exactly sure how this was going to go but as per usual for me- I charged on ahead balls to the wall. When someone asked me what exactly this was going to be like, I couldn’t give much of an answer. (I got “the look” in return.)

Lauren did tell me to not drink coffee beforehand, that they would have some for me. I forgot to ask why, I assume the caffiene would affect the process somehow. But she did tell me that she would be applying the lashes with the same adhesive used for surgical glue- so it’s a lot safer than some other adhesives used. (Yay for being safe.)

The process took about two hours, and I fell asleep on the table. It was more relaxing than I expected- thank GOD or I think I might have ADD’d out while getting it done. But Lauren was great. AND I learned while there that Classic Hair Designs offers the Clarisonic cleaning brush on LAYAWAY. Ok, so maybe I am cheap but believe it or not I do try my best to stick to a budget and I try to not use my credit cards- so anytime someone offers layaway I am super thrilled. Anyways…

It’s been about a week, a couple of lashes have fallen out but really they look amaze-balls and I love them. I didn’t have to use mascara at all too, although you can use it with these. Check out my before and after pics!
