Welcome to Make It Work Molly!

Hello everyone!!! I am SO excited to finally get this thing up and going. Please pardon our progress, as the site will still be undergoing some finishing touches before final. But I wanted to tell yall a little bit about myself. My name is Molly McWilliams Wilkins, I live in Macon, Georgia. I have two lovely children whom I adore. And I have a slight fashion addiction. This started, according to my mother, when I was a toddler and I refused to wear pants. However I would argue that it really started in middle school, when the girls at the private school I attended began to discover Vogue Magazine and The Gap. In fact, I remember my first LBD (Little Black Dress): it was a black wool from The Gap. I believe I held on to it for some years. Probably til college. At that age I did not hold an appreciate for sales- oooohhhhhh noooooo. Could not make me buy anything on sale. I attribute that to being too young. And snobby.

Anyways, fast forward to junior year of college when I moved to Athens, Georgia and worked at McColly’s Boutique (now closed) on College Street. I learned SO MUCH. I learned to appreciate small boutiques, and what really went in to the buying process- going to L.A. or NYC or the Atlanta Mart.

After having moved back to Macon I would later start to write for Macon Food and Culture magazine (www.maconfood.com) where I would later start the fashion column, which I still write. This column has grown by leaps and bounds as the magazine itself has grown as well. Now, I am working on a segment for WMAZ- the tv station I work for managing the Macon, Ga DealChicken site (www.dealchicken.com/macon-ga).

I have reached out and heard back from many designers and beauty mavens from across the world. I am so excited to share what I am learning with all of yall! Please email me at makeitworkmolly@gmail.com if you have any questions or suggestions for interviews!!

Love,
