The Struggle For Christmas Cards

I’m not really sure why it is what getting Christmas cards done in a timely manner is always so difficult for me, but it is. I always end up paying to super rushed extra fee just to get them to my house in time. And even then they usually hit the mail about two days before Christmas. I figure at that point they’ve become holiday cards and it’s ok that they didn’t get to people’s houses before Christmas. PLUS, being Episcopalian, I’m reminded every holiday season that the 12 Days of Christmas actually start on Christmas day and continue through to January 6th: Epiphany. So I figure it’s ok if they’re a little “late”.

 

But this year I actually got my Christmas cards ordered before Thanksgiving. Nevermind that we didn’t have the chance to see a professional photographer this year. I just used photos of my kids embracing each other during the Easter Sunday brunch at church. I figure this is a lot more accurate picture of everyday life with my kids than something posed.
