The Most Perfect Spring Break Ever

Last year would have been the first Spring Break I’ve ever had…. since being a student in college. But there was this whole start of a pandemic thing- so it didn’t really feel like a break, more like a breakneck time to figure out how to pivot everything. So this time around, things were different. I got to get a lot done but also rest!

I got to teach my FIRST class at Homegrown Yoga here in Macon- and it was nice to get my nerves out because I was nervous for sure!

From there my kids and I were able to visit with a friend- I even treated myself to a to-go lunch from Grow for our picnic. I got to check out The Transformation Spot and found their B-12 Energy Tea which was AMAZING before going to the gym- phew!

And we managed to pick out the perfect day to go the Central City Park for the Cherry Blossom midway rides: the weather was slightly overcast, but no rain, and it wasn’t crowded. And… kiddos convinced my guy that it was warm enough to get in his pool. (It wasn’t.)

From here it was off to a day trip to Atlanta to pick up birthday presents for my guy, visiting a very popular Roswell eatery with Sevyn, and catching up with yet another friend who has just moved back from Boston!

And then…. capping it all off was dinner with my guy, his daughter, and my two kiddos. I probably stressed myself way too much over it but I love planning dinners and even more so for this special guy. He deserves it and more! And I have to say I was super impressed by Mitch’s Meats in Roswell because I couldn’t find Prime Dry Aged beef anywhere near Macon. Did I also forget to add that on Friday I was giving my first academic presentation? Yep, I’m always one to overload myself- even during Spring Break (with the weirdest thumbnail ever smh):

Risotto from Oliver’s was a last minute addition to the table (thank God there’s no way I could have cooked it) and White Chocolate Bananas Foster Bread Pudding by Ilir really capped it off! I spoke with him so many times leading up to this that I’m sure I made him crazy but he would have never let me know it- he’s such a gentleman and really knows his craft. I appreciate him so much for this.

All that said, let me officially say Happy Birthday to Rusty- my guy who makes me smile, who means more to me than I could ever find the words to say. Trying to do so here would mean failure because I know I can’t do it justice.

Being able to cap off Spring Break with a fun dinner with all of my most special people is going to make subsequent Spring Breaks hard, I know this one was the absolute best.

Love to all y’all-

Especially Rusty, this is just the first of many of your birthdays together!
