Socks in a Box

Imagine not having socks.

It sounds simple, but having clean socks can help in ways many of us can’t imagine for our homeless population.

Bishop Wilkins had this concern, and wanted to do something about it. While talking with his mother about what they could do for his Fellowship & Duty to God badge for Cub Scouts, he thought he could take action to help the homeless in his community. He spoke with a representative from Daybreak in Macon, Georgia and came up with the idea to collect socks! He decided to name his efforts “Socks in a Box”- with the help of his sister Lily Kate, decorated some boxes with Christmas paper, and set out to ask local businesses to help him in this endeavor.

This year, due to COVID, we are collecting items virtually through this Amazon list but you can also make donation directly to Daybreak online through their website here.
