The Perfect Mother’s Day Gift #2: Artist Spotlight at Advanced Dental Arts

Want to stop in for a quick Mother’s Day gift at your local dentist’s office? You can!

Wait, what?

Yep, the dentist’s office.

Macon based Advanced Dental Arts will have three artists on hand Friday, April 27th, to shop with these locals artists. It’s the perfect chance to pick up a unique gift for Mother’s Day- or any occasion!

“Come out for a night to celebrate some of our local artists! Pick up a few gifts for Mother’s Day, graduation, or even yourself. We will have light hors d’oeurves & wine available from FOJ an eatery, along with piano music by Sylvia Haynie. Tours of our facility will be offered throughout the evening,” says the event’s Facebook promotion.

Local artists include Jen Worsham, Catherine Williamson, and …. us! The Southern Bon Vivant crew, represented by yours truly. 🙂

Artist Jen Worsham’s artistic method is calculated and intentional. It is influenced by nature, gravity, fluidity, and simplicity. “With representational work, the bar is already set: make your artwork look as much like the subject as you can – landscapes, portraits, still lifes,” she says. “With non-representational work, there is no bar. There are no limits. The challenge, for me, lies in creating something that didn’t exist before and learning to recognize when it’s complete.” Her current concentration is in fluid acrylic art, with work ranging from mini-paper paintings to 3’x4’ canvases. She’s redefining this technique in a modern and refined manner; an elegant and authentic interpretation of a trending technique. Jen has a BFA in Fine Studio Arts, and was born and raised in Macon, Georgia. Her work is currently featured at the Macon Arts Alliance and The Village Studio Gallery.

Catherine Williamson says “Being an artist really is an exploration – not only of the outside world but of the world inside me. It’s an excavation of myself. So, when I share my art with you it is not just something I painted, it is a part of me – my thoughts, attitudes, desires, joys, convictions. It is a personal offering.

When I am painting Abstracts it is like visiting a new land, speaking in another language, the language of my hands. I have no preconceived idea. It is all intuitive. My Mixed Media work is mostly girls, sayings or both. They are my heart and soul poured out on the canvas as faces, words, colors, designs.”

And then we will have our candles, bath bombs, lotion bars, AND the Lily & B Designs jewelry made by my kiddos.

This is a great chance to shop, and perhaps find a new dentist!

Love to all y’all,

Molly
