Mrs. Clooney’s Dubious Gloves, Golden Globes Misses, And By-Lines

Sometimes the bloggers and fashion writers out there are just straight up bitches.

I’m really kind of surprised at the uproar over Mrs. Amal Clooney’s gloves at the Golden Globes. Really? Of all of style blunders we could criticize, this is the one making waves?

As the New York Times said, she didn’t violate any outright laws of how to wear gloves– other than scrunching them a bit perhaps (and yes I agree wearing them taut is how it should be done). And perhaps this may not have been the right event for them.

Let’s review some truly horrendous blunders over the years, shall we?

Did Lara Flynn Boyle perform in a rendention of Swan Lake that we weren’t aware of?

This outfit truly warrants the phrase ” I Can’t Even”

I take it back- THIS one warrants the phrase ” I Can’t Even”.
I think y’all get the picture by this point…

I sometimes have to wonder, are we as fashion bloggers criticizing stars and other such people in the public eye simply for the cause of getting a by-line? For going viral?

In this competitive world of pseudo-journalism, with Instagram followers, Retweets, and Facebook likes driving this need for viral attention to our writings, I have to wonder if we have lost the true sartorial eye.

I think one of the reasons Amal Clooney happens to be the target of these fashion bloggers and other writers is because she’s the hot ticket right now, she bagged the biggest prize, and she’s SMART. She’s smart and pretty and skinny and everything that we all want to be to begin with AND SHE MARRIED THE WHITE WHALE: GEORGE CLOONEY. It’s classic jealousy.

Fashion and style isn’t just about who is wearing what, but how they wore it. Amal Clooney looks amazing and anyone who says otherwise just sounds like a jealous, bitchy queen. So go cry in your doughnuts and lack of Twitter followers if you don’t agree.

Love to (most) all y’all,
