If I Get Nothing Else Done Today, It Will Be This:

My most favorite “mommy” thing to do is make my son’s lunch. (Lily Kate is still in daycare part of the time, and when she is there they don’t allow outside food in- but I make her lunch when she is home with me.) Don’t get me wrong- I love reading them books, especially since their favorite night time book was also a favorite of mine growing up! And I love playing outside with them. But making Bishop’s lunch (and Lily Kate’s next year when she starts school) for him to take to school is a way I can let him know I’m thinking about him even when he isn’t with me.

And I have fun getting creative with his lunches. You see, Bishop is a picky kid. He gets that from his father- I can say that because his father is aware of it and even retells stories of when he was a child and ONLY ate Fruity Pebbles. His own family has verified that one. Actually his father really kind of thought it was cool when Bishop was younger and he was really picky like Daddy- until Daddy started to feed him… then he realized what a total pain in the ass it is. Anyways…

Bishop does not like school food apparently. Now, how he managed to get through daycare I’m not sure, as the food seems similar. But anyways his teacher tells me after I made him a special lunch one time that he ate the lunch I made more than the school lunch.

So, making Bishop’s lunch has become one of my favorite “mommy activities”, and it will be even more enjoyable when I make Lily Kate’s for school, and even more so when they are old enough to read notes that I can leave in their lunches 🙂

Love to all yall,
