I Think I Can, I Think I Can… No I Can’t! Help Me Choose!

Ok, so some are giving me a hard time for not being able to choose a dress for this weekend’s Taste of the Arts party. Why does this seem to be so life or death to me?

Well… I think at this point in time we all know I love fashion. I also love to push the envelope and do something different than everyone else. One of my dresses is a modern, iconic movie dress that was well worn by Kate Hudson. Um, intimidation much? Just a lil bit. Maybe. But that’s also another reason to wear it- there is a challenge to giving another interpretation.

Whoa whoa whoa wait- interpretation? Of a dress? Oh hell yes! It’s no different than hearing two different performances of the same song, or seeing two artist paint pictures of the same landscape. For me, fashion is one of my many art forms that I employ. But unlike someone who says “I can’t sing” or “I can’t paint” (and for the record- I think anyone can do both of those with training- I am a great example of that). Anyone can use fashion as a chance to express themselves. So for instance, what would be my different interpretation of this dress?

So for one, my dress is red. Difference number one. Also, Kate is a blond. As of the moment, I have my hair in an ombre brown to blonde color BUT on Thursday- Jackie Wright of William Alexander Salon (https://www.facebook.com/pages/William-Alexander-Salon/119088041464499) will color my hair a darker ombre. Something close to this:

I may not go quiiiiite that dark- but something close. I will also get Jackie to style my hair the next day (she did my hair for my last photo shoot- which I hope to post pics of soon). It’ll be partially up and down in some kind of way. Kate wore her’s up.

Now- let me say- I still haven’t decided on my dress. I’ll have my hair and makeup done regardless. So this might just be a last minute decision. The only thing that I may need to change would be my lip color. Jenny Creel at M.A.C. will do my makeup, as she generally does- I’m thinking a glittery, smokey eye. If I go with the red dress it’ll either be a nude lip or red, probably. If I go with the beige dress, with the ruched bodice and flowy lines… it’ll probably be a bright pink lip.

Ok well, this probably won’t be decided until the night of BUT guess what I really need yall to do? Aside from helping me pick a dress, I need yall to buy tickets. And if nothing else, I damn sure won’t tell yall what I am wearing until after the event so if you want- you should come and see me in person. And if nothing else, today I have a steal of a deal for you.

Today, you can go to this link here and get buy one get one free tickets- you know you don’t want to miss it! http://macon.dealsaver.com/engine/SplashDetails.aspx?LID=841&contestid=32765&productid=7532668&p=1
