Historic Macon: Design, Wine, & Dine 2015

Last year, Historic Macon featured a debut event called Design, Wine, & Dine. Imagine an event which showcases the best in food, drink, and design? Two days of getting to interact with and soak up brilliant minds of art, home design, wine, food, and even moonshine.

This was one of the most fun events that I’ve had the pleasure of participating in. And it just reiterates what I have told friends privately: that Historic Macon is one of the groups that I enjoy the most.

But let’s get back to Design, Wine, & Dine itself. This year it comes back bigger and better. DWD has been combined with the biennial Designer’s Showcase House and extended to ten days of a lifestyle festival  complete with celebrity dining demonstrations, design lectures, and – one of the best parts- beverage tastings.

These lectures and demonstrations will take place at The Blacksmith Shop on Poplar Street in downtown Macon, and the Design House is on Cherry Street next door to The Rookery- consisting of three loft spaces and one retail space. The event opens on March 5th and closes on the 15th.

Last year, Mark Ballard was a brilliant emcee throughout those two days of workshops, food, lectures and just plain fun. And luckily for us he returns with his fantastic flair. There will be after hours events, a lovely preview party at Travis Jean Gallery, and a private chef’s dinner with Andy Husbands of Tremont 647 in Boston.

Presenters include Mark Ballard, Vince Dooley, Chadwick Boyd, Jessica Harris, William Cummings, Andy Husbands,  and Tim McNally.
