Halloween Inspired Cocktails and Libations
Some of y’all may remember that I’ve been doing some postings for what was known as The Smirnoff Hub, now called TheBar.com, and they sent me some interesting recipes to share with y’all!
One of them stood out to me immediately: The Plundering Pumpkin. This is because it incorporates Pumpkin Beer, and since Lazy Dog Growler is one of my clients for my marketing business I’ve been learning a LOT about beer. This libation recipe calls for 6 ounces of pumpkin beer and one ounce of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum. The directions say to drop a shot of the rum into a pint of the beer and enjoy. May I put in a shameless plug for any of the pumpkin beers at Lazy Dog? 😉
Another suggestion they sent is the Princess Potion, which I’m going to try for an upcoming Girls Night In with some of my very favorite ladies. It calls for the following:
Princess Potion
1 bottle Once Upon a Vine® Lost Slipper Sauvignon Blanc
8 oz. Grapefruit juice
8 oz. Lemon juice
8 oz. Lime juice
8 oz. Simple syrup
1 Cucumber
1 Bunch of mint
Directions: Pre-cut ingredients and pour into punch bowl. Serves 4.
I’m really curious to see how the Sauvignon Blanc, grapefruit, lemon, lime, cucumber, mint and simple syrup all work together. It might be a good follow up post, don’t you think? And it sounds refreshing enough so that it won’t be too heavy for an evening out. If you want to try another wine concoction, there’s the Witches Brew:
Witches Brew
4 oz. Once Upon a Vine® Fairest Chardonnay
2 oz. Pear nectar
1 oz. Lime juice
.5 oz. Simple syrup
3 Sprigs of thyme
(Note the frozen ice hand, courtesy of the surgical glove recommendation that Nadia G spoke about in a previous interview.)
Directions: Shake ingredients in a cocktail shaker and strain into a chilled glass. To spook the brew up, celebrity chef Nadia G recommends freezing a surgical glove.
Looks pretty good, right?
These are just a few ideas for ways to spice up your Halloween cocktails and libations- hope you have a spooktacular (couldn’t help it) Halloween!
Love to all y’all,
Molly
