2014 Annual Meetings and Cultural Awards
The Douglass Theatre, Macon, Georgia
Come and celebrate the arts with the Macon Arts Alliance during their annual meeting and cultural awards ceremony. The lady who first taught me a love of dance through ballet will be one of the honorees: Jane Madison. ” Jane Madison, Tom Morris, Eric Wakefield, and Kathy Willingham will be honored with 2014 Cultural Awards. Beverly Olson will be honored with a Rosalyn Elkan Lifetime Achievement Award. The Cultural Awards are presented by Macon Arts Alliance to honor those citizens who have contributed greatly to the arts and cultural community. A reception will immediately follow the awards presentation with music provided by Julia Brandenburg, violin, of Warwick, RI, and Si Hao He, cello, of Shanghai, China. Both performers are students at the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings at Mercer University’s Townsend School of Music.”
The Grapes of Wrath
Macon Little Theatre, pre show reception at Molly’s Cafe
And then there is also a group I have recently become more familiar with, the Macon-Bibb Citizen Advocacy organization. They are having their fundraiser with a showing of The Grapes of Wrath at Theatre Macon, and a pre show reception at Molly’s Cafe. I will be attending this event, actually, although it’s a hard choice with everything else that’s going on!
Whatever you choose to do, get out there and do something, support your community wherever you may be.
Love to all y’all,
Molly
