Hey guys! So I’ve mentioned before that one of my biggest passions is thrifting. I can’t keep my hands off some of the clothes that lie waiting in a Goodwill, Salvation Army or local thrift shop. So I’m starting Thrifty Thursdays! Every Thursday you can expect a feature of some of the clothing, jewelry, shoes or other nick-nacks that I find in local thrift stores! I’ll also provide y’all with some thrifting tips on how to find these beauties!

So first up: my find of these Vintage Brown Leather Pappagallo shoes. They’re a little banged and tattered up, but I feel that’s the character coming out. These are some of my favorite shoes and as you can see, I’ve worn them out.

After a bit of digging (since this brand is not really popular these days), I’ve found that it isn’t an expensive pair of shoes. I found a similar pair on Ebay for $27.99. However, I got mine for $4.99. So definitely saved some money here! (And I love these shoes)

Secondly, I found this gold necklace with two sparrows on it.

I couldn’t find a similar one online, but I did find a gold necklace with ONE sparrow on Delighted for $25.00. After snagging mine for $3.00, you could say I’m pretty proud.

[dropcap_blue]THRIFTY TIP #1:[/dropcap_blue]
[clear]
[dropcap_pink]TAKE YOUR TIME[/dropcap_pink]
[margin_5b]
So the Thrifty Tip for this Thursday is probably THE most important thing to do while shopping at a thrift store. It can be easy to rush, especially since modern day department stores lay things out so conveniently. It is not the same at thrift stores. Employees are not trained and do not sort things according to brand or value; it is merely categorized by the type of article (aka blouses, dresses, pants, shoes, jewelry, etc.). This means that there are tons of hidden treasures among all that junk! So if you decide to take a thrifting trip, prepare to spend at least 30 minutes up to hours upon hours to sorting out those goods.
