Savannah Fashion Week: Interview with Kathryn Hayes of Mix Julep

For my very first designer interview for Savannah Fashion Week, I will be highlighting Savannah’s own Kathryn Hayes of Mix Julep. I fell in love with her work when I visited BleuBelle Boutique during my Girl Meets Savannah project.
I love her clean lines and just simply beautiful aesthetic. So to get to speak with her was like a dream come true for me. I’m so excited to share this interview, and many more to come, with yall!
MIWM: What is your design aesthetic? What inspires you to create?
KH: I think fashion is more about the way you feel in clothes and that is what inspires me. I lean toward versatile, classic styles combined with luxurious and unique fabrics.

MIWM: If you were to describe your style in two words what would they be?
KH: Ladylike and Chic

MIWM: Do you think fashion should be attainable for all people? Why or why not?
KH: Of course! Most can shop new styles at various price points. I believe that it should be that way because women benefit mentally when they feel good physically and fashion is a huge part of it.

MIWM: Who would you say is your ideal customer?
KH: My ideal customer is the women who appreciates high quality clothing and realizes the value in having a unique piece that she would love to wear again and again.
