Savannah Fashion Week: Day Two- Custard, Foxy Loxy and More
This day almost didn’t happen.
With the crazy weather I had already made the decision to keep my kids home from school- just in case. Even if I came back to Savannah, as I did, I didn’t want my parents in the weather going to get my kids should school let out early or I just got nervous and wanted my sweet babies home early.
Then I got about 40 minutes down the road, almost to Dublin, when the skye were looking almost orange gray. Only one word was in my mind: tornado. I kept my eyes safely on my phone when I could to watch what WMAZ’s weather team was saying over Twitter. And Olivia James would assure me it was just the tail end of the storm.

But if that simple weather scared me bad enough to pull over, as I did, then maybe I didn’t need to drive to Savannah when they are predicting bad weather again tonight? After all one of the most fun events today will be the blogger meet up this evening. Sad face! But you know, it could be a lot worse. I could have lost relatives or my house could have gotten hit. I decided to trek on and just leave super early if the weather looks bad.
So, I am here. I purposely didn’t eat a lot before hitting the road because I knew I wanted lunch at Foxy Loxy. Loooooove these tacos, y’all. And this cafe con leche is to die for- I wouldn’t have ordinarily ordered it on ice but that’s how the young lady recommended it. And it’s pretty too!
And next I’ll head over the Custard Boutique for their trunk show, as I wear my Mix Julep dress that I bought on sale yesterday at BleuBelle. Even with all of the DvF items that I loved and wanted, I couldn’t help but go with the cobalt blue dress that I tried on during my last visit made by the native Savannah designer. And of course I have it paired with the Charleston pearls from Moon & Lola- I feel like I stand out a bit among the hipster SCAD students at Foxy Loxy but it’s ok cause I look great!
Stay tuned to see how long I’m able to stay and what all I find at Custard!! Also- I still have more interviews with designers to post AND to talk about tomorrow night’s big event- the showing of Mademoiselle C sooooooooo excited I can hardly stand it!!
Love to all y’all- especially my #SFW2014 peeps!!
