As I thumb through a vast amount of proofs from my photographer, this picture jumps through the screen. No need to focus because the tie automatically grabs my attention. Is it the width, color, or the mere fact that it’s length reaches the tip of his belt? I imagine it’s all of the above.
The art of accessorizing is execution. One of the biggest exaggerations of a statement is its add-ons. What’s the purpose of a piece if it doesn’t speak? Every look needs a focal piece and in this look it just happens to be the tie. Some looks have more than one piece of eye candy and each get equal attention if they compliment each other.
Handkerchiefs, belts, shoes, and blazers all fall into the category of “pieces that speak,” however there is a such thing as over accessorizing (but that’s an article within itself). This tie is bold in color and is paired with a gray suit that doesn’t wash or diminish the look (or smile!) of this guy.
This tie is versatile and can be combined with a number of colored or patterned shirts in addition to being accessorized with a bold or small printed hankie. As long as your tie is tied with a dimple, knotted to compliment the collar of the shirt, and its length is as pictured, execution is yours.
