Ladda Bistro Prepares for Opening Day

A restaurant opening is always an exciting event in Macon, Georgia.

The opening of Ladda Bistro is no exception.

This spot will occupy the former Lemongrass Bistro next to Theatre Macon, and I had the chance to speak with owner and chef Tom.

He let me know first about the structural changes: more private seating, the installation of noise reduction panels, Bamboo lanterns for lighting, and a shortened bar.

When I asked if I could see the menu, Chef Tom was a little more coy.

He let me know that they will be using more local ingredients, but keeping the same spices and curries. The menu will also be limited to start so that they can get feedback from patrons.

And as for the opening date?

They are waiting on a few more things to fall into place, like the completions of inspections and such. But it’s looking like it could happen as soon as next week. Keep an eye open on their Facebook page for the official announcement.

They’ve had a lot of people stop by who are excited about opening, just about every day, according to Chef Tom.

Looks like the wait will be over soon!

“I enjoy serving people and I’m happy to do it,” Chef Tom said. “Especially my wife, she loves to cook and she’s good at it. So we’re going to keep doing it.”

If you’re going to say something like that- do it under a real name- other than just “loyal” and “lmcneil76@gmail.com”
