Kids Fun In Middle Georgia: December 1st – 7th 2014
There’s a lot of fun things happening for the kids this week in Middle Georgia!
Thursday night is the first event I’m highlighting: Christmas in the Corridor. I missed it last year because my kiddos were with their father, and there’s not much more that can bum you out as a divorced parent as going to a kids event when you don’t have your kids. BUT this year I’m super happy cause I just realized, kiddos will be with Mommy this night!
Just imagine it: snow, local makers, food, carolers, snow. Yes, I said snow! There will be a snow slide for the kids. A special presentation of “Let It Go” from Frozen. S’mores and singing and more. You can really get in to the spirit by bringing a toy to donate to Kids Yule Love.
And something else really cool for me? I’ll get to participate in the Mercer Christmas Tree lighting with my kids, something I first did as a freshman so many years ago…. but not with this much fun stuff happening!
If you find yourself in the Monroe County area, you might want to check out the 25th Annual Hometown Holiday Parade: this year’s theme is “Celebrations of Christmas Past”. Come check out the float competition and be sure to wave to Santa and Mrs. Claus at the end.
Character Breakfast Presented by the Junior League of Macon
I’m proud to be a member of the Junior League of Macon for several years now, and the Character Breakfast is one of our signature events of the year. There will be superheroes and princesses AND a super special surprise visitor from the North Pole. This event is at 9:00 am at the Anderson Conference Center.
However, this is an event that sells out each year so you will want to go ahead and make your reservations now, click here: Junior League of Macon Character Breakfast.
(Children under the age of 1 are free.)
Ingleside Village, that is, from 10:00 am til 6:00 pm on December 5th and 6th. Santa will be at STEPS for photos from 12:00 pm til 3:00 pm, so be sure to bring your camera! And a kids station will be at Ciao Bella Couture Boutique. You can also enter the raffle to win prizes from merchants!
2014 Middle Georgia Christmas Parade
Last but certainly not least, the 2014 Middle Georgia Christmas Parade. This one is close to my heart because I had the privilege of serving on this committee AND I get to be a judge! Woo hoo!
This year’s theme is “Macon’s Musical Heritage”, and I’m hearing that some of the entries have something really cool cooked up for this. The competition sounds fierce, so come on out and see if myself and the other judges pick the ones you love the most!
So, what are you going to do with your kids this week?
Love to all y’all,
Molly
