Georgia Heads Into The Storm

Y’all- I’m SO STOKED about the Alabam vs. Georgia game this weekend. It’s no surprise to anyone who has been following the hype video trend that Georgia is leading the pack.

The writing here is beautiful, the video is amazing, all of it- just gives me goosebumps. Listen closely, or read the words here written by poet Mike Young, and watch:

We got fire in our belly’s heating up a dream in our hearts
A flame lit by the spark of ambition
Stoked by the billows of our age old tradition
And spread like wildfire by admission in to this secret garden between These sacred and ancient hedges

Though this garden grows no flowers,
We grow thunderstorms
That shake the ground for miles and miles around.

We grow the mighty and upright oak trees
That stand taller than their circumstance
With roots digging deep into conviction
And hold on harder than the obstacles surrounding them.

We grow love songs
Rebuilt from the heads of broken war drums
That never sounded louder than when pounded by these mallets of our passion.

We grow hearts that beat in sync with our brothers who stand beside us
Busting through rib cages
And Set up on stages 
So they can shine like lightning 
In the wildest storm and darkest night.

We grow those lightning strikes. 
We grow the wildfire. 
We grow integrity.
We grow desire.
We grew a nation from three pillars, two words, and one heart.
One part excellence,
One part refusing to stay where we’ve been.

We grow feathers and wings here.
We grow victory here.
We grow work ethic here.
We grow won’t quit.
We grow better than the world believed we could be,
But we water that with our own blood sweat and tears.

We grow go.
We grow fight. 
We grow win.

We grow love of the game.
We grow chasing your dreams.
We grow making those dreams come true.
We grow sons and brothers.
We grow husbands and fathers.
Between a these sacred hedges,
In our secret garden,

We grow champions here.
