Can You Ever Have Too Many….? Earrings, That Is: 30 Day Challenge

I’ve got more earrings than I can count, truly. I might even have more earrings than I do shoes!!! Sadly, I’ve probably lost just as many pairs of earrings. Noteably- I lost one of earring from one of my favorite pairs of earrings at the end of a date (let’s just say he made a move- was rebuffed- and one of my earring was lost in the process and I didn’t bother trying to get it back- I mean seriously dating has gotten horrible these days- but that’s a whole other post).

Anyways before I get off track… I still have lots of earrings. Even while prepping  for this post I found an earring to go with it’s mate that I previously thought was lost! (It was just hiding in another compartment of the jewelry hanger.) And so I thought, why not write a post about all of my earrings?

Then I thought I’d take it a step further. I’ve seen other people write on 30 Day fashion challenges, most recently I ran across a post by Kaylee Daily about her own 30 Day Challenge. ( Kaylee is another local blogger who was nominated for the 11th Hour Awards for Best Blogger- guess we will get to meet at the show Thursday!) So…. a different pair of earrings every day for 30 days.

This is pretty huge for me. When it comes to my jewelry I much prefer items that I can put on and forget about them. Some examples include my Tiffany Elsa Peretti heart necklace, the Aquamarine Diamonds by the Yard necklace, and my Moon and Lola monogrammed initials necklace. The only pair of earrings I have that I can leave on- shower and all- are my Tiffany silver studs. So that means… I generally wear those. Or my Diana Warner studs. But… what if I tried to mix it up? I mean, I have these items shouldn’t I use them more than just on special occasions?

So… here we go. I’ve found a bunch of earrings from the formal to the classic to the strangely funky (what was I thinking when I bought some of these)- stay tuned over the next month to see if I actually stick of my goal and what outfits I pair them with!

For the first day (yesterday) I wore a pair of earrings that were my first Knot + Bow purchase: a sky blue quatrefoil with an orange teardrop. I don’t wear a lot of “dangly” earrings anymore just because my kids still might pull on them. But I love these and I always get compliments on them. The two colors look great together, plus orange is a huge bonus because I’m a Mercer Bear fan (and we play Duke this Friday!!!! #GoBears #BeatDook) and I just realized the blue is very close to the color of the North Carolina Tar Heels: arch energy of the Duke Blue Devils. I might have to wear them again on Friday just during the game…
