As Tan as an Apple

Wait… what?!

Yep. Tan as an apple. I tried a spray tan last week that is made of apples, totally natural, and totally amazing.

The solution is made of a brown sugar derived from apples, and the tan can last seven days or more depending on how you moisturize. I didn’t believe it til I tried it. I have had other spray tans before and they leave me feeling rather sticky at first and generally fade within about – oh- three to four days. And when it does fade it really just turns splotchy and I have to furiously scrub it off. Not this one. I got this a little over a week ago and while there has been some fading, it’s been gradual. I didn’t have any issue with it afterwards smelling bad, in fact it really smelled kind of sweet.

Before trying this product, I interviewed Aubrey Soria, of Salon Fusion about it… in fact I just realized I didn’t even tell yall what it’s called. It’s called “Lavish Tan”- and for me I really didn’t notice much of a change at first until I looked at my tan line. I’m naturally rather dark, and was told I probably could have gone a little darker but this was really perfect to start out because it wasn’t OBVIOUSLY noticeable. Aubrey and Ginger Huff are both the brains behinds Salon Fusion. Anyways here’s the interview:

Make It Work Molly: So, tell me, how did yall find this product?

Aubrey Soria: I discovered Lavish Tan after an exhaustive search for an organic spray tan that will not turn your skin orange.  I loved the reviews I read, and decided to order this product to test it out! The tests were dramatic and golden!

MIWM: What sets this apart from other spray tans?

AS: Most spray tans are either packed full of chemicals or produced from the sugars in beets and carrots… Why would you want a tan made from beets and carrots?  They obviously would produce that orange tone.  Lavish Tan is derived from the brown sugar from apples, so there is absolutely no orange.  The tan does not leave you sticky or with that “spray tan” smell.

MIWM: How do other spray tans usually work? Why is this product better?

AS: Many other spray tans will leave you feeling uncomfortably sticky, and with an odor of having been sprayed.  Over time your tan will develop.  With proper moisturization you will be able to maintain your tan from 7-12 days.  If you’ve ever seen a sliced apple turn from white to brown, you’ve seen how spray-tanning products work on your skin.  Lavish Tan works just like that, the brown sugar base apple product will oxidize over the next 6-8 hours and you will be left with a beautiful golden tan.

I have to say, she’s totally right. I have been blown away by this product. I also discovered while at Salon Fusion, that they have created their own line of cosmetic products called Horizon Cosmetics. And they have the most amazing line of products that they are about to go and show to Jill Zarin- yes Jill Zarin of the Real Housewives of New York City. I am a tremendous fan of their whipped body butter in the Cashmere Sugar fragrance, and it also helped the spray tan last longer!

Congrats to Aubrey and Ginger Huff! Love these girls and their products- and you will as well.

Love to all yall,

Molly
