A Sweet Lil Something: Smirnoff Cinna-Sugar Vodka & Peppermint-Chocolate Cheescake
For those of you who aren’t aware, I am in a partnership with Smirnoff Vodka as a member of their Smirnoff Hub of writers. As a member I am sent the occasional products to review and test out before the rest of the market.
I’m a little bit behind on my assignments with this but they sent me a bottle of their Cinna-Sugar flavored vodka. The challenge for me is that I am *not* a mixologist so I am going to go to various restaurants in our Middle Georgia area and ask the bartenders to make their own version of a cocktail with this vodka, and I will pair it with a dessert item from their menu.
First up is Dovetail, in downtown Macon. Bartender Justin met my challenge after thinking about it for a little bit and sampling the vodka. The bar got rather busy, especially for the day after Christmas, and we ordered dinner while he thought it over. He came back to us and said he had something that he felt like would work.
Well, he was correct. This after dinner dessert drink was created with 1 and 1/2 ounces of Smirnoff Cinna-Sugar vodka, 1/2 ounce of Kahlua, 1/2 ounce Dark Creme de Cacao, and 1/2 ounce of 40% heavy creme. We had it with the amazing Peppermint-Chocolate Cheesecake- which was just the right amount of decadent cheesecake placed a top a chocolate sponge cake. It was the perfect after dinner combo- try it for yourself and see!
