A Guide for How To Use The Coleman Hill Slide
One of the posts that I’ve written that consistently gets re-read is the one where I talked about the Coleman Hill slide.
So I thought I would revisit this topic with some key tips.
1- While there’s generally plenty of cardboard in the area, bring your own. Why? Because this slide is not very slick, by design I’m sure. So you really need something to help you slide down.
2- Want to slide fast? Use a fleece blanket. I wouldn’t advise letting little kids do this because my son did it once and got turned around head first. Scared the bejesus out of me- thankfully there was a parent at the bottom who caught him or God knows how that would have turned out.
3- Safety rails were added by the steps, which is good, as well as chips at the bottom so there’s some padding. But still exercise caution.
4- If you’ve got little ones sliding down, perhaps go down with them in your lap.
5- But if you’ve got bigger kids who insist on you sliding with them:
Then be prepared for your own injury- trust me this looks better than it initially did.
6-Bring a picnic! There are more picnic tables nearby but I like to bring a large blanket and just camp out next to the slide.
7-Be prepared to make new friends! There’s always a good group out here, even if you’re there first eventually there will be others joining you.
Have fun y’all!
Love to all y’all,
Molly
